Deployment Guide
Cloud-hosted deployment
Use TheChatApp without managing infrastructure. TheChatApp operates the hosting layer, while workspace administrators manage users, roles, settings, and policies from the app.
What TheChatApp manages
In cloud-hosted deployments, TheChatApp manages the infrastructure side for you. There is no server selection, always-on machine, router port setup, or hosting environment to maintain.
| Area | Managed by |
|---|---|
| Infrastructure | TheChatApp manages hosting, availability, server networking, and platform maintenance. |
| Workspace administration | Your administrators manage users, roles, workspace settings, identity options, retention, and security controls from inside the app. |
Set up your account
- Create or open your TheChatApp cloud account.
- Create the workspace and first administrator.
- Invite users or configure identity settings if your plan includes them.
- Open the desktop or mobile app and sign in to the cloud-hosted workspace.
Admin controls
Cloud hosting removes infrastructure work, but it does not remove workspace control. Administrators can still manage the parts they expect from the admin view in the app, including users, roles, channels, groups, retention, security settings, audit-related controls, and supported identity options.
Verify the workspace
- Sign in as an administrator from the desktop app.
- Invite a test user and confirm they can join.
- Send messages, upload a file, and start a call.
- Review the admin view and configure the workspace settings needed before inviting the wider team.
