Use desktop and mobile apps

The desktop and mobile apps share the same core workspace model, with a few platform-specific differences for meetings, files, notifications, and administration.

Desktop app

The desktop app is the most complete workspace experience. Use it for channels, direct messages, group conversations, calls, video, screen sharing, meetings, calendar views, files, search, user groups, notifications, themes, keyboard shortcuts, and Dashboard / Home.

Mobile app

The mobile app supports daily collaboration: messaging, reactions, polls, threads, files, contacts, presence, voice/video calls, meetings, push notifications, and read-only user group visibility.

Platform differences

Some features are desktop-only today. Dashboard / Home, calendar views, screen-share sending, channel management, user group administration, theme creation, and several administrative workflows are not available on mobile at launch.

Mobile users still receive realtime delivery and push notifications even when a desktop-only management or catch-up surface is unavailable on mobile.
